The propeller will turn when sufficient solar energy is converted to electricity, powering up the motor.
This is an excellent STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) project. The kit includes a small pallet of 6 paint colours and brush for the child to paint the plane as artistically and creatively as possible.
Note: this plane is not able to fly on its own.
